Reception Home Learning

In the Early Years learning through play and real experiences is a crucial part of the curriculum. This is why many of the home learning suggestions for Reception will be more practical. There is no expectation for children to complete every activity and there is certainly no expectation for parents to purchase any additional resources for home learning. Please make use of any toys and resources that you have in your home environment.

If you have any questions, please email

Philosophy - In school your child will take part in some child-friendly philosophy sessions. These sessions are much more accessible than they might sound!  They are generally based around a conversation, sharing an opinion or debating an idea. There are a series of free videos you can watch, each with a different theme. These videos will prompt a discussion, similar to the ones we have in our philosophy lessons in school. Click here to view The Philosophy Man YouTube channel. There is an example video for you to watch below.
